Activities. Camp activities include animal presentations, handling opportunities, art projects, and science projects. All activities have been developed by our professional zoo education staff with the campers age in mind. Activities occur within the safety of zoo grounds under direct supervision. The campers will have special access to the back area, barns, classrooms, zoo kitchen, and wildlife theater.

Fridays are specials days here at the zoo. Campers will have the privilege of inviting their family and friends to attend an animal show that they have prepared. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see what your camper has learned during their week.

Campers are required to bring a lunch, snack and water bottle each day.

Please understand that although we have many touchable animals at the zoo, the campers' safety is always our first concern. Therefore, campers will not come in physical contact with all the animals at the zoo.

Camp Hours. A full day of camp runs from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Monday through Friday. Camp day begins with drop off/sign in with a camp counselor at the front of the zoo. Camper should arrive no later than 15 minutes before camp start time. Pick up runs from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm. Late pick up beyond the 15 minute grace period will be charged at a rate of $1.00 per minute.

Week of the Fourth of July. This week will be four days; Tuesday to Friday. This week has been discounted accordingly.

COVID precautions. The summer of 2022 will be a bit different here at the zoo. For your camper's safety we will be limiting each group to 20 campers, kept socially distanced from the second group at all times. ALL campers will be required to wear a mask while indoors except when eating or drinking. ALL campers must answer a health check upon check in. Each camper will be given a personal "camp kit" containing their own set of items traditionally shared by groups such as art supplies. Frequent washing of hands will occur and there will be sanitation stations through out the zoo. In addition, our zoo staff disinfects all high touch surfaces every hour.

Refund Policy. If unforeseen circumstances arise refunds are as follows:

-Up to two weeks before your start date, a full date minus a $10 handling fee

-Within two weeks of your start date, a 50% refund

-Once your camp date has arrived, no refund will be given

To receive a refund please contact the Zoo Office at (805) 378-1441.
